Brand & Creative

Identity, logo and guidelines, with the creative strategy behind them.

Delivered by Pakai Hati

Who it helps

New businesses before they open, businesses that have grown past their first logo, and owners who are tired of explaining their brand to every new designer.

The problem it solves

A new business has no face yet. An established one often has several: a sign painted by one person, an Instagram run by another, a menu laid out by a third. Brand & Creative gives a business one mark, the rules for using it, and the visual language everything it publishes follows.

People decide in a second whether a place looks like them. A consistent mark across the sign, the feed and the menu says the business is run with care, and it makes every later piece of content cheaper: the rules are already decided.

A logo alone does not change a business. It is the first file in the folder; the guideline and the content that follow are what people actually see.

What you get

The brand logo
The mark and its lockups, in colour and in one colour, as files for print, screen and signage
The brand guideline
How the logo, the colours, the typography and the imagery are used, with examples on your own materials
The brand on social media
Rules for photographs, type on image, templates and the tone of captions, where the feed is the main stage
The handover
Files organised and named, so your printer, your sign-maker and your next designer can work from them

How we approach it

We start by listening to how the owner describes the business and by looking at what customers see today. The logo is drawn from that: a mark that works small on a phone screen and large on a wall, with its lockups, colours and files. The brand guideline writes down how it is used, so the next person who makes a menu or a post keeps it right. Where the brand will live mostly in a feed, the guideline extends to the content: how photographs are taken, how type sits on them, what the captions sound like.

Among the marks it has produced: a one-line emblem for a Manado restaurant, drawn from its fish, its plate and its water; a monogram for a villa; a script wordmark for Garden Bliss.

Who does what

Pakai Hati
Listens, proposes two or three directions, draws the mark, writes the guideline and hands over the files.
You

What we need from you

  • A decision-maker who can choose a direction and approve the mark
  • What exists: the current logo, photographs, the sign, the menu, the feed
  • The facts a mark must carry: the full name, the place, any legal form that has to appear

How it works

  1. Listening

A conversation about the business, the customers you have and the ones you want, what you like and what you refuse. We look at everything that carries your name today.

  2. Direction

Two or three directions as sketches, each with the thinking behind it, shown on your materials rather than on a blank page.

  3. The mark

The chosen direction drawn to the end: proportions, lockups, colour, how it behaves small and large. One round of refinement with you.

  4. The guideline

The rules written down, with your own menu, sign or feed as the examples. Files prepared and handed over.

Not included

  • Trademark search and registration: we can point you to the process, but it is a lawyer's work
  • Unlimited directions and revisions: the proposal names the rounds
  • Printing, signage and merchandise are quoted by their makers; we prepare the files and check the proofs
  • Content production after the guideline is a Content & Social retainer

Questions people ask

How many logo options will we see?

Usually two or three directions, each argued, not a sheet of twenty. A direction is chosen with reasons, then refined.

Can you refresh our existing logo instead of replacing it?

Yes. Many businesses need a cleaner version of the mark they already have, and a guideline so it stops drifting.

Do we need a guideline if we are small?

The smaller the team, the more people outside it will make things with your logo. A short guideline keeps the printer and the intern on the same page.

The next step

It starts with a conversation about the business, where the brand will appear first, and when you need it. The proposal that follows names the pieces, the rounds of revision and the timeline. Fees are in the proposal, not here.
